Shawnee Heights senior point guard Tez Scroggins threw down an impressive dunk against Topeka High that was picked up on ESPN.com.

Scroggins, who stands 6-foot, received an outlet pass from Malik Stanley in the fourth quarter and raced towards the basket with Joel Long getting back on defense.  The 6-foot-5 Long, who is headed to Kansas to high jump, was unable to stop Scroggins who slammed home the dunk and drew a foul on Long.

“It was going to be a layup, but I saw Joel chasing me down so I decided to rise up,” Scroggins said.

The dunk brought the Shawnee Heights home crowd to its feet as Scroggins yelled in excitement.

“The feeling was crazy,” Scroggins said.  “It got the crowd hype and my teammates.  I think I will do it more often.”

The dunk created a stir on social media and was picked up ESPN.com.

“It’s a great feeling,” Scroggins said of the attention.  “I could get used to it.”

Shawnee Heights, the No. 1-ranked team in Class 5A, improved to 17-2 with a 57-34 win. Scroggins finished with a game-high 15 points.  Scroggins is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports.com and is currently uncommitted.
