Midseason Top 10 2018 Rankings

There are a number of sophomores that have been contributed this season including some with lead roles.

Hayden’s duo of Jett Canfield and DeShawn Hanika top the list of the best 2018 players in Topeka, which also includes four Highland Park players in the top seven.

Here’s a look at the top 2018 players in Topeka:

Top 5 Prospects in 2018 Class (Updated: February 6, 2016)

1. JETT CANFIELD | 5-10 POINT GUARD | HAYDEN
Canfield has taken on a scoring role as sophomore after being more of a distributor as a freshman starter and with his KC Run GMC summer team.  Canfield showed off his scoring ability in a 37-point game against Park Hill (Mo.).  Canfield leads Hayden in scoring at 15 points a game and will be a key to their success as they look to make a run at the 4A-II state tournament.

2. DeSHAWN HANIKA | 6-3 SHOOTING GUARD | HAYDEN 
Hanika has showed off his athleticism in flashes this season including an impressive alley-oop dunk. Hanika uses his length in driving to the basket, is a good rebounder, and continues to develop. Hanika has taken an unofficial visit to Tulsa.

3. WILL WHITE | 6-1 SHOOTING GUARD | HIGHLAND PARK
White is a tough two-way player who has been settling into a starting role with the Scots while shooting over 50 percent from the field.  He is a good perimeter shooter and defender.

4. LARRY WHITE | 6-3 SMALL FORWARD | HIGHLAND PARK
White has come on during his sophomore season earning a starting nod. He’s got good length and ability to score in the basket and in transition.

5. KORIYON CARR | 5-10 POINT GUARD | TOPEKA WEST
Carr has a variety of moves going to the basket and also can knock down 3-pointers on the perimeter. Averaging 12 points a game for the Chargers.

6. DASANI GIARDINA | 5-10 POINT GUARD | HIGHLAND PARK
Giardina has made the most of his opportunities off the bench for the Scots knocking down a number of 3-pointers. Also a competitive player who has made improvements in the past year.

7. KENNY STEWART | 5-11 POINT GUARD | HIGHLAND PARK
Stewart has developed into a solid point guard that is a good ballhandler and someone that can hit 3s.  He showed his ability to come up in a big moment when he had a key steal and 3 in the fourth quarter in a win over Olathe South at the T.I.T.

8. JACKSON COBB | 6-3 POWER FORWARD | SEAMAN
Cobb is an athletic player who has settled into a role for the Vikings this year and someone to watch for the future especially if he continues to grow. Cobb has the ability to score in the post and knock down the 10-15 foot jumper.

9. HAYDEN FEDRICO | 6-3 FORWARD | HAYDEN
Federico has been a key player off the bench for the Wildcats. Can defend and rebound while scoring in the paint.

10. TYLER WHITE | 6-3 SHOOTING GUARD | SHAWNEE HEIGHTS
White is a good perimeter shooter and is someone to keep an eye on.
