Former Highland Park and current Barton (Kan.) Community College power forward Eddie Hunt has verbally committed to Limestone College, a Division II school in Gaffney, S.C.
Hunt took an official visit to Limestone this week before making his decision on Friday afternoon.
“The program and coaches reminded me so much of coach (Ken) Darting and they’re very family oriented,” Hunt said. “I felt right at home while I was there.”
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound sophomore averaged 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 30 games this past season for the Cougars who finished 18-13.
Hunt helped Highland Park to a 47-3 record with two state championship game appearances in his final two seasons (2012-14) after playing his first two years at Lansing. He averaged 7.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 25 games as a senior. He was the third-ranked 2014 prospect in Topeka.
Hunt is one of three former Highland Park players currently playing at the Division I or II level joining Jahmal McMurray (USF) and O’Shai Clark (Lincoln-MO).
