In addition to having a 17U and a 16U team, the Top City summer basketball program also has a 15U and 14U team featuring some of the best young players in Topeka.

The 15U and 14U teams are coached by Chris Giardina and will be playing in the Sunflower Showcase (July 24-27).

“Top City basketball started with basically the East side kids and when I came on board I brought some kids all over Topeka with me and then every time somebody sees us play, we get tremendous compliments on how hard we play and what we actually do out there and how well we compete,” Giardina said.

The top 2017 prospects on the team are J’Shaleik Hendricks (Topeka High), Devonte Morten (pictured, transferred to Topeka West after playing at Highland Park), Treshaun Sizemore (Shawnee Heights), and Antonio Pead (Highland Park).

“J’Shaleik Hendricks is one of the better point guards in the city,” Giardina said. “Devonte Morten is another very good player on the team. Treshaun Sizemore is 6-5 1/2, real athletic, but he’s a project–you can’t coach height and he’s still growing.  Antonio Pead is another good ball player who can shoot the 3 and handle it.”

2018 point guard Dasani Giardina and 2018 shooting guard DeShawn Hanika have been playing up on the 15U team in addition to the 14U team.
