Former Topeka High standout Onzie Branch will begin his second professional season playing in Puerto Rico.

Branch will be playing for Caciques de Humacao in the BSN (Baloncesto Superior Nacional) after being traded in the offseason. His first regular season game is on Feb. 25.

The 6-foot-6 small forward was a first-round draft pick (10th overall) by Capitanes de Arecibo in 2015. Branch averaged 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 23 games during his rookie season with Arecibo.

Branch’s collegiate career included playing his final two seasons for Gardner-Webb (2012-14) averaging 4.4 points in 67 games. He graduated from Topeka High in 2010.

Branch is one of three current professional players from Topeka joining Highland Park grads Kyle Weems (Strasbourg/France) and Antowine Lamb (Kenitra AC/Morocco).
